by posted 06/13/2022

Important Updates:

*End of Season In-House Tourney*

Games will start 6/27 with Championship games occurring on Thursday 6/30

Click HERE on Saturday to review game times and locations.

Note –

·       We will not know our seeding and therefore our first game time/location until ALL REGULAR SEASON GAMES are completed and scores submitted.

·       In order to accommodate shifting up these games earlier in the week, this may mean that we will have 4:00pm games this week!

·       There are trophies for 1st – 3rd place (we do not get consolation trophies at this age)

*Annual Deer Run Golf Tournament Fundraiser*

We have only 6 foursomes remaining! And new this year – we have JUST released today single golf spots. We have two signed up already! We’ll match you in a foursome with other MBA parents who want to golf and support our fundraiser! Please encourage your families to join us on Monday, June 20th

Click HERE to register a foursome or single player. You can ALSO join us (and me!) for Dinner and the Live Auction. Those tickets are purchased in the same link! There will be exclusive items – Champions Club tickets! Fishing Excursion! Carols Correa’s personal game suite! And more!

*Field Announcements + Reminders for all families, coaches, fans*

1.       Bennett Park Rules – As tenants of Bennett Family Park, we must abide by their rules, which includes no alcohol on the property. This also extends to the parking lot, where they do not allow tailgating. Anyone in violation of this will be asked to leave the property.

2.       Excelsior Commons – if you have games in Excelsior, please ensure your players, families, and fans are picking up after themselves. We have heard from the park that trash is being left behind after sporting events. This is also being asked of Softball, who shares use of this field.

3.       Freeman Park – There is a paved path between the two parking lots at Freeman Park. No motorized vehicles are allowed on this path. Our organization has received numerous calls from concerned residents that parents are stopping and having their kids move the cones so they can drive through to the other parking lot. The cones are obviously there intentionally, and so that vehicles do not drive through, and this ultimately makes it safer for those that are walking and biking through the park.

Important Info  (from MBA website)
by posted 04/08/2022

My name is Amanda Pikala (Miles' mom) and I volunteered to be the manager for the Community 12/13 Sky Chairs team! Here is some really important information.

  1. Field Clean up was scheduled for 4/9 but we were just notified that due to field conditions, that is cancelled and fields are unavailable for use until 4/18. We cannot have our 4/15 practice so that practice is cancelled. Regarding 4/13 practice at Freeman Batting Cages, we don't know if those will be ready for us by then. I'll let you know as soon as I know.
  2. Picture Day is April 23rd at St. Therese Elementary School in the Cafeteria. Timing is TBD. Ordering will be online. I'll keep you posted with those details.
  3. Opening Day is Sat, May 7th from 10am to 4pm at Bennett Family Park. There will be games, giveaways, etc. More details to come.
  4. The annual golf tournament fundraiser is on Mon, June 20th at Deer Run Golf Course. There will be a silent and live auction, a dinner only option, etc. More details to come.
  5. Rules. Here are the rules
  6. Another rule is that the players and coaches cannot have sunflower seeds, shelled nuts, and gum on the field or in the bench area during games. This is for everyone's safety; to avoid choking and allergies. We ask that players and coaches do not eat during the games or practices unless medically necessary. Fans can eat.
  7. Allergies. Does your kiddo have any allergies? If so, please let me know.
  8. Just a reminder to label everything. Water bottles, gategrade a play might bring for during a game/practice, bats, everything!
  9. COVID. If a player tests positive for COVID, please contact the coaches as well as the MBA Safety Team: Meghan Selinger at selingermba@gmail.com AND Charlotte Wheeler at mbasafetydirector@gmail.com. They will walk you through the steps to take in accordance with the Minnesota Department of Health and the Minnetonka School District.
  10. Volunteer shifts. Each family needs to complete one volunteer shift throughout the season for each player. You'll receive emails from the league directly about this as they are the ones that organize and track this. More information can be found here.
  11. Please utilize the RSVP function for games and practices in the Sports Signup Play App. If you have trouble with the app, please reach out.
Please don't hesitate to reach out to the coaches or myself with any questions or concerns. It's going to be a great season!
